Ryan Davis- People Untapped

Work history

As a People and Organisational Development consultant, and registered Industrial & Organisational Psychologist, Ryan has worked for more than 15 years partnering with clients to advise, design and implement innovative and engaging solutions that enhance performance. At the forefront of this has been facilitating and coaching by creating empowering spaces where diverse leaders, teams, organisations and communities can ultimately affect positive change.

Prior to working as an independent consultant, Ryan held leadership roles in a number of communal and non-profit organisations, worked in organisational development in the airline industry, and spent six additional years as a management consultant. As a coach and consultant, he has worked and continues to work with clients across industries, locally and globally, from graduates to Board level, in person and virtually. Moreover, he designs and facilitates immersive professional development programmes for leaders, teams and other stakeholders in the public, private and non-profit sectors.

Ryan has always wanted to use his skills and acquired knowledge to contribute to individuals and organisations that are making a sustainable impact each day, and that wish to inspire and enable a better tomorrow. He volunteers for a number of non-profit organisations (locally and internationally) focusing on education, sustainable impact, international development and leadership. He also mentors’ communal leaders and has attended and presented at a number of leadership and education conferences worldwide.

In 2019, Ryan completed a Certificate in Social Impact Strategy at the University of Pennsylvania. Amongst other goals of the programme, he wished to further expand his global network of change makers, learn from respected faculty in entrepreneurship and the social sector, and grow his social impact toolkit to have the ability to share these resources with others working to build sustainable solutions to what may seem to be insurmountable issues. Much of this learning is integrated into all his work and solution offerings.

Consulting, coaching and facilitation approach

As a facilitator and coach, Ryan’s role is always first-and-foremost to co-create and hold a space which is respectful, constructive, dynamic, healthy, brave, challenging, goal-oriented, empowering, collaborative and energising (all at appropriate times). He is known as someone that immediately gets a good ‘feel’ of a team/organisational culture when walking into the room and prioritises building trust and meaningful relationships very quickly. While he loves to share, give and guide others, Ryan is a partner and collaborator first, working together with individuals, teams and organisations towards the goals that they have set for themselves, or that they define as part of the coaching/facilitation/consulting process together.

Ryan draws on a number of coaching and facilitation techniques and together with his client, they define their unique path towards success together, but only after their context, values, strengths, development areas are clearly defined. Ryan then supports his clients, very often as an accountability partner – encouraging, and pushing (hard, where necessary) – towards achieving and hopefully exceeding expectations.

Ryan believes in infinite potential and loves to help uncover this in any situation. He is both adaptable and focused on the big picture, where he is guided by an anything is possible attitude, giving of his all and even if a process proves extremely challenging, he thrives when progress is made in a positive direction, and his clients experience the growth they did not even realise was possible (individually, and as a team/organisation/community).
