Work history

Mark is a professional certified coach with an extensive background in financial markets and banking. Before training as a coach Mark’s career spanned more than 20 years in senior roles for blue-chip financial institutions in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He has managed multi-billion dollar balance sheets as Head of Asset and Liability Management, traded interest rate derivatives and government bonds, sat on global management teams working with CEOs around the world and been a business analyst on major technical projects. Throughout his career Mark had a proven track record of profitability, leadership and mentoring, and delivery of strategic initiatives with a global impact.

Working with a great coach helped him to manage his own energy and emotions to make the right decisions, playing a significant role in his success. This inspired him to first volunteer as a mentor coach within his organisation and eventually to leave finance to coach full-time.

Consulting, coaching and facilitation approach

Having spent his career working in a high-pressure, results-driven environment, Mark has a thorough understanding of the stresses and strains associated with high performance, and how easily it can be to become stuck or feel a loss of control in challenging situations

In his coaching, Mark uses his experience to simplify seemingly complex problems into easily understandable inquiries, allowing clients to develop their own insights and solutions. He listens with a keen focus and without judgement, quickly estabilishing the trust and connection needed for an effective coaching relationship.

Mark believes the primary role of a coach is to be a thinking partner, working with clients to create a vision of who or what they want to be and how they want to achieve this vision. By focusing on their strengths and opening themselves in a positive way to new perspectives and ideas, clients are able to take ownership of the present and build a strategy for the future. As a result, engagement and performance are vastly improved, leading to a more successful and fulfilling outcome for both coachees and organisations.
